Tink is walking to school. He meets up with his friend Saria on the way to school. They talk for a little bit of a while about current events outside the forest, and the latest small-town gossip revolving around the school bully, Mido. Mido drops off of one of the buildings, and reveals that he’s been eavesdropping.Tink says it’s not like he doesn’t deserve it. Mido rushes Tink, and Tink back flips and trips Mido. Mido falls and runs home bleeding from a scraped knee, crying. Tink and Saria keep walking, and Saria interjects the silence, wondering why a person like Tink hasn’t been blessed with a fairy. Tink has no response, and it falls to an awkward silence as they approach the school doors.
On the way to class, Tink comes across the token twins, who do stereotypical twins stuff like completing each others sentences, answering each others questions, and sucking at baseball. He walks around them, and adventures to his class at the end of the hall. He looks at his dungeon map, and his compass, and finds the room with the skull labeled on the map. He uses the boss key to open the door, and walks in. He takes his seat next to Sleben, and they begin to talk about the homework, and any new songs they may have learned on the Ocarina, and any adverse affects that may have occurred there from.
Principal BFalc is heard speaking, his voice so thunderous and booming that a loudspeaker is not necessary for the entire school to hear his business. He calls Tink to his office, which is really just an annexed part of the school designed around his upper limbs and canopy. Principal Bfalc is literally incapable of moving from his spot and administering his principal duties because he’s a tree. But the students and faculty all respect him because they realize that he’s the guardian spirit of the forest and it’s denizens. Tink walks into his office, and steps up in front of the monstrous tree.
BFalc mentions Tink’s academic excellence, outstanding courage and leadership qualities, and how proud of him he is as a student, as a person, and as a friend. BFalc tells Tink not to get discouraged by the other students because he lacks a fairy. He tells him to look forward to his future because he can tell that Tink will be destined for great things.
Tink returns to his classroom listening to Professor niggbari talk about bacon. He leans over to pearby and talks about why he likes pig bacon better than turkey bacon.Professor niggbari disagrees and demonstrates the superiority of turkey bacon and its ease of cooking and superior nuanced, complex flavor. Running low on bacon-flavored bacon, professor niggbari ask a student to volunteer to run to the shop across the road. Considering he is not well liked by his class, no one speaks up. Irritated, niggbari selects Tink at random. Being a good sport, Tink accepts.
Tink adventures down to the shop to buy some bacon-flavored bacon for Professor Niggbari and his demonstration of the superiority of certain types of bacon. Tink is somewhat confused at why this is relevant in the first place considering that the class Niggbari sent him out of was a Geometry class. But he doesn’t think about these things, he’s more preoccupied with what Bfalc told him. How could he, the boy without a fairy, be destined for great things? And for that matter, how great could these things be?
He shoots the breeze with old shop keep. After he gets what he came for: the bacon, a little magic pot just in case, and some Deku Nuts for lunch, he starts the return journey. He sees a dog that looks a bit hungry. He feeds it a Deku Nut, and it follows him to the spring, where he sits and talks to it while it drinks. He gets a feeling he’ll want to come back here with Saria sometime, so he casts Farore’s Wind (warp magic) with the little pot he bought from the store, and bids the dog goodbye on his way back to school.
He brings Professor Niggbari the bacon with promises of extra credit and resumes his studies. During his demonstration of how to properly cook up bacon from coast to coast, Niggbari makes a ghastly error. Suddenly sparks and grease start flying from his trusty frying pan. The greasy sparks reach some graded papers, igniting the pile of A’s and the wooden desk below. The class falls into a panic as Professor Niggbari pulls the fire alarm. As Niggbari tries to contain the ever-growing blaze, the ever-calm Tink has a brain blast. In his heightened state of awareness, he remembers the spring from his adventure earlier. With his course clearly set in front of him, he takes action.
He calms down his fellow students, and tells them to (insert applicable behavior protocol according to TJ’s fire policy here) casts Nayru’s love (fire blanket) and *uses Farore’s Wind again to return to the spring he was going to visit later with Saria. He fills up a series of empty bottles with the fresh spring water, and he returns to his school and dashes into his classroom to hedge the fire.* (everything between the two asterisks could be equated to calling the fire department.)
Ending: Tink is called to BFalc’s office. BFalc congratulates Tink on his heroics. Tink thanks him. BFalc brings up the fact that he doesn’t have a fairy. Tink is embarrassed and intrigued at the same time. BFalc tells him to lean in, and Tink does. He comes in slowly, kind of curious, and Bfalc opens his mouth and blasts a gust of wind, blowing Tink into the door and dropping a couple apples from his branches. BFalc insist that Tink partakes one of the apples. Bfalc states that as a reward for his heroics, he shall always have a fairy companion.
